Engine Design
At Fire we have designed, built and tested many engine combinations, mainly V8 2 valve engines, and mainly supercharged and nitrous engines, however we have also built our share of naturally aspirated engines for street and race cars.
We only use premium parts to suit the engines purpose, RPM and stress
level (ie Piston speed) we use formulas to determine what level of parts are required (these formulas are well proven) so your not buying junk or parts that are beyond your engines needs, in both cases saving you money.
All the cylinder head work is done in house unless head assemblies are preffered, all bottom end machining is performed by various accurate engine machine shops, as with all engines we measure every machining process.
Of course we measure and adjust as necessary Main, Rod Bearing clearances, crank endfloat, rod to rod clearance, Rod to block, rod to cam, rod to piston boss, crank counterweight to piston, rod little end to crank counterweight, Piston to head, piston to valve, piston to bore, piston pin clearance, valve to valve relief radial clearance etc etc etc
so many other clearances to check in an engine to ensure its reliability and performance.
We are able to fit cam bearings, machine piston valve reliefs (Piston Vise), "O" Ring blocks and reciever groove cylinder heads and other smaller block machining proceses.
My time at Crane Cams also ensures the correct camshaft is chosen for your combination, the FIRST time.
Give us a call for a estimation on your next engine combination...
